Shoot 2
I continued the theme of overlaying onto images by creating a bloody line with water colour then scanning it i na nd overlaying it onto my images. The bloody neckline was chose due to the nature of the story The Bloody Chamber , where decapitation is a main theme as the main character is given a blood red necklace , and Marquis attempts to decapitate her.
The top red spot is also a reference to the book where a small spot of blood marks out the guilt of the main character( and in some respects her loss odf innocence)like a mark of cain.
I went to the woods and took photos of the trees to overlay onto images instead of pen and ink drawings.
I editied the water colour to be alot more vibrant as this is closer to the colour of blood.
Darkroom
I created an acetate and used a fork to scratch out some of the white background to make a looming figuire behind the portrait ( see references). I then printed this in the darkroom and edited it a little on photoshop ( see right).
